Partly Nonsense

What do hash browns, borscht and shower heads have in common?

They?re all made better with a little vinegar.

We remodeled my bathroom about 10 years ago, and the same shower head has been up there getting corroded even since. Lately, it was spewing water in all directions, including one little squirt that was starting to shoot over the door.

The solution was vinegar. I just soaked that head in it overnight, put it back on and now the water comes out like velvet!

How do you rate a motel room?

You guessed it. By the shower head.

I was sitting there eating my breakfast the other morning? Grape Nuts with bananas and a glass of orange juice?when it occurred to me: What in the world were they thinking when they named those little gravel-like morsels Grape Nuts? They have nothing to do with grapes.

Quite a few years back, our clothes dryer wasn?t getting the job done. Everything took forever to dry. It was a Maytag, so we shouldn?t have had to call the repairman, but we did.

Paul Epp came out, looked it over and found there was so much loose change in the vent opening that no air was getting through. In fact, he said we had a record amount of money in the vent hole. About $6.38!

I now know how our old cat?that is now long gone?felt the time when she was run over on the highway and survived.

Reports of a terrible crud going around are not exaggerated. It caught up with me this past Tuesday, and it is terrible.

I haven?t been the same since.

It took me out of commission for four days?which I don?t recall has happened to me ever before.

I hope to be better this week because we are publishing our Annual Report ?Turn of the Century Edition? to record for all time the state of our city in the year 2000.
