Peace poster winners

Elfrieda Funk and Marsha Setzkorn-Meyer, Noon Lions Club, announce the top four places. Winners were Penner, first; Jessica Heidel, second; Tommy Woods, third; and Brantley Hanna, fourth. The posters were judged by a representative from the Hillsboro Arts and Crafts Association. Lions Clubs International is sponsoring the contest to emphasize the importance of world peace. One grand prize winner will be selected from 24 international finalists. The grand prize includes a cash award of $2,500 and an all-expenses paid trip for the winner and two family members to Honolulu, Hawaii for the awards ceremony at the Lions Clubs International convention in June 2000. The remaining 23 finalists will receive certificates and cash awards of $500.
