LETTERS: ?Hospice Tree of Life? was a community success

ORIGINALLY WRITTEN BY DONNA E. BECKER
It is with joyful hearts that we express our deepest thanks to all of you who contributed to the Hospice Tree of Life. The lighting ceremony was small, but the weather was perfect.

The Centre High School Choir performed for a crowd of 40 people. We were pleased that the family of W.E. ?Woody? Steinert was able to light the tree in memory of ?Woody? and for all of those who were remembered in the book of names by their families and friends.

Six hundred names graced the pages in the bookstand that stood next to the tree. The tree speaks to our community?s enduring financial support of the passionate and extraordinary care that is hospice.

Central Homecare & Hospice and the Friends of Hospice would like to thank the following individuals, groups, and businesses in Marion County for their help with this event: the family of W.E. “Woody” Steinert, Centre High School Choir directed by Angola Wilczek, Marion Christian Church, Marion Christian Women?s Fellowship, Hillsboro Free Press, Carlson?s TV & Radio Service (in memory of Mandy Lynn Carlson), Sanders Electric, Don Hess, Mennonite Press.

A very special thank you to the Senior Citizens of Marion County, Inc. and the Friends of Hospice volunteers, Kathleen Brenzikofer, Lanell Hett, Joyce Kyle, Edwin Winter, Noreen Weems.

Thank you to the following banks, we appreciate your ongoing support: Citizens State Bank, Central National Bank, Emprise Bank, Tampa State Bank, Peabody State Bank, Marion National Bank, Farmers State Bank, Hillsboro State Bank, and Cottonwood Valley Bank.
