Centre boys, girls split with White City Tuesday night

The CENTRE HIGH SCHOOL boys’ varsity lost to Eisenhower League rival White City, 66-42, at home on Tuesday night.

White City, paced by nine points from Morgan, established a 15-6 lead after one quarter. They still held a nine-point lead at halftime, but took control in the second half with 38 points to the Cougars’ 23.

Brad Hajek led Centre (2-6) with 13 points and Eric Carlson added 11. They were the only two Cougars to break double digits.

In the JV game, Centre boys clipped White City 55-42.Grant Garrasol scored 20 and C.J. Irwin 11 for Centre.

Meanwhile, the CENTRE GIRLS led by 10 points after one quater and 27 at halftime to cruise to an easy 53-23 win over White City.

Centre’s Erica Hatterman scored 17 of her game-high 19 points in the first half, which ended with a 37-10 Cougar lead.

Cassie Owens added nine points and Remee Ecklund eight for Centre (4-3).
