A surprise snowstorm on Monday forced Bob Watson, senior vice president at Emprise Bank, and many other downtown business persons, outside to clear sidewalks. An estimated five to six inches of the white stuff had fallen by early Monday evening. Local schools sent their students home at 2 p.m. on the first day back from holiday vacation.
