They helped the Warriors go 4-1 in their season-opening tournament Aug. 30. In Kim Topham’s second year leading the Peabody-Burns cross-country program, the boys’ team won the Heart of America League, placed second at the Class 2A regional and fifth at state—all in the season following the graduation of 2006 state champion Andrew Topham.

Coming off a 7-3 season, the Peabody-Burns High School football team returns four starters on both sides of the ball and will possess considerable speed on both offense and defense.

Senior Kelsey Bartel (left) and sophomore Becky Faber will lead a young and relatively inexperienced team this fall for first-year head coach Bob Woelk.
The unofficial theme for the girls’ tennis team at Hillsboro High School could be “All Things New.”
With head coach Lynn Wiebe taking a break after seven years at the helm, and with the graduation of eight seniors from last year’s team, the Trojans will have a very different look in 2008.
