It was a week that saw the Warriors take part in two of four scheduled games as the already rescheduled doubleheader at Canton-Galva had to be postponed again because of weather.

The Trojans followed an 18-0 four-inning win with an 11-1 conquest in five innings to improve to 9-1 for the season.
In the opener, pitcher Allison Weber limited the Eagles to one hit—a single by Jennifer Likes in the bottom of the fourth. Weber struck out six batters and walked one to improve to 4-1.
Meanwhile, the Trojans roughed up Eagle starter Hannah O’Neil for 12 hits, including Madison Klein’s first over-the fence home run of her career. She drove in four runs for the game.
Julie Sinclair, Emily Jost and Kennedy Lucero each contributed three hits.

The Goessel boys took third among five teams with 49 points behind Berean (187) and Hillsboro (96), while the girls placed third with 72 points behind Berean (199) and Hillsboro (79).
The boys were led by Brian Hiebert, who placed first in the shot put (39 feet, 0.5 inches).
The girls, meanwhile, enjoyed three first-place finishes: Page Hiebert in the long jump (14-21⁄2) and Tia Goertzen in the 100 hurdles (17.20 seconds) and 300 hurdles (51.90).
The Bluebirds participated April 5 at the Bennington Invitational, where both the girls and boys placed 11th.

Written by Don Ratzlaff Tuesday, 16 April 2013 12:19With Josh Richert and Emily Sechrist each pulling off a three-race sweep in the distance events, the Hillsboro boys’ and girls’ track teams combined for 11 first-place performances at a five-school Central Kansas Track League meet at Goessel.
The quint had been scheduled for last Tuesday, but was postponed because of weather.
For the boys, Richert won the 3,200 meters in 11 minutes, 1.8 seconds, the 1,600 in 4:59.4 and the 800 in 2:11.8.
Shaq Thiessen pulled off a double gold, winning the high jump at 6 feet even and the long jump with 21-9. Tyler Proffitt won the pole vault by clearing 13 feet and Avery Franz took the triple jump with a distance of 39-41⁄4.

Trinity Catholic won the invitational with a score of 350.
Wiley Lundy led the way for the Warriors with an 18-hole score of 92 for 12th place.
Also competing were Hogan Lovelady (99), Dylan Goebel (105), Jared Hague (106) and Brant Stephenson (120).
“If you harbor the philosophy that peaking early in the golf season is not a good idea, then I would say we are right on schedule,” coach Thane Schwartz said, adding that the below-freezing temperatures at tee-off contributed to some stiff and awkward swings.
