Trinity Catholic won the invitational with a score of 350.

The Trojans finished with a team score of 387, trailing Trinity Catholic with 350, Sacred Heart with 372 and Bennington with 373.
Evan Ollenburger medaled by finishing seventh individually with an 88, 13 strokes behind the winner, Brooks Brown of Sacred Heart.
Also competing for Hillsboro were Andrew Meier with a 90, Graham Pankratz with a 102 and Phillip Ediger with a 107.

Sterling’s varsity team won Friday’s meet with 10 points, followed by Hesston (7), Hillsboro (4) and Sterling’s B team (2).
Daniel Gray, playing No. 1 singles, lost 8-2 to Zack Brashear of Sterling A and 8-5 to David Kitzinger of Hesston before defeating Brian Walker of Sterling B, 8-7 (10-8).

Smoky Valley—The Warrior boys claimed second place in a field of 11 schools with 76 points behind Sacred Heart (136).
The girls, meanwhile, finished seventh with 43 points. Concordia won the meet at 112.
“The Smoky Valley meet was a great learning experience for us,” coach Grant Thierolf said. “We did some things very well, and we found out that we have a whole lot of work to do in the coming weeks.”

Written by Don Ratzlaff Tuesday, 16 April 2013 12:14Sophomore Julie Sinclair pitched a three-hit shutout to lead the Hillsboro softball team to an 8-0 victory and sweep of its doubleheader Friday at Kingman.
Combined with a 13-2 victory in Game 1, the Trojans are now 5-1 for the season.
Following a five-inning run-rule performance in Game 1, the Trojans struggled to score early in Game 2. But a Bradli Nowak double with one out in the fourth inning sparked a six-run burst that put the game firmly in Hillsboro’s control.
Madison Klein drove in Nowak with a single, then Sinclair doubled to score Klein. Emily Jost contributed a single and Kennedy Lucero a double to fuel the fire.
