On a rare night when Eagles matched up against Eagles, Canton-Galva hung tough but ultimately fell short of defeating Olpe on the road last Tuesday night, 21-13.At stake was an opportunity to face third-ranked Pittsburg-Colgan in Saturday’s Class 2-1A regional round.
After falling behind 7-0 in the first quarter, CGHS came up less than a yard shy of converting a fourth-and-short to start the second period.
Three plays later, Olpe wide receiver Bradley Argabright trotted into the end zone for a 40-yard catch-and-run set up by a play action pass. The point-after made it 14-0 at 7:38.

Centre senior Kylie Burhoop was named to the 2007 Eisenhower all-league first team, as was junior Leann Pankratz. Senior setter Samantha Alvarez received honorable mention.Five players represented Hope on the all-league first team, with White City and Wakefield each receiving two nods from the selectors.

Goessel vs. CentreThe Bluebirds defeated the Cougars convincingly, 58-0, Thursday at home.
Goessel scored early and often, beginning with a 16-yard pass fromAustin Unruh to Kendall Voth that provided the only score GHS wouldneed.
Travis Fensky scored on a 5-yard run and a punt return in the opening period, and Dustin Peterson added a 1-yard run.
After Fensky’s punt return, he converted the first of Goessel’s five consecutive points-after-touchdown, and the Bluebirds led 26-0 at intermission.
Unruh opened the second half with a 23-yard run, and Craig Banman added the 2-point conversion.
