“We came into the game tied for first place with one loss each in the Cottonwood Valley League,” Canton-Galva coach Kelly Nelson said.

2 MHS baseball athletes earn All-State honors

Two Marion baseball athletes have received Class 3A All-State honors.
Junior first baseman Taylor Heidebrecht was named to the second team, batting .481 on the season. He scored 25 runs and contributed 24 RBIs, knocking out seven doubles and three triples this season.
Junior outfielder Grif Case was also named to the second team. He batted .441, scoring 34 runs and recording 21 RBIs. Case managed three doubles, four triples and two home runs this year.
Six HHS baseball players receive all-league honors

Six members of the Hillsboro High School baseball team have received all-league recognition from Central Kansas League coaches.Nathan Unruh was the Trojans’ lone selection for the first team. The senior led the team in almost every offensive category, including total hits (31), average (.484), slugging percentage (.688) and runs batted in (25).
Named to the second team was senior Kale Arnold (.394, 28 hits, 18 RBIs) at first base.
Four Trojans received honorable mention: senior Lucas Sinclair (.339, 21 hits, 17 RBIs) at catcher, junior Jordan Faul (.394, 28 hits, nine RBIs) at utility player and sophomores David Dick (.321, 17 hits, 11 RBIs) at second and Jakob Hanschu (.232, 14 runs scored) in the outfield.

Seven players from Hillsboro High School’s Central Kansas League co-championship team have received all-league recognition from league coaches.Four Trojans were picked for the first team, two for the second team and one received honorable mention.
Senior Tena Loewen was a unanimous pick for the first-team outfield. She was joined by teammates Danae Bina, a junior, at shortstop, and sophomores Julie Sinclair at first base and Madison Klein at second base.
Chosen for the second team were sophomore pitcher Allison Weber and sophomore catcher Bradli Nowak.
Sophomore Emily Jost received honorable mention for her play in the outfield.
