Warriors sweep double-dual at Burlington

The Marion High School wrestlers defeated Chase County and Burlington in double dual action in Burlington. The Warriors topped the Bulldogs 38-37 and the Wildcats 45-27.

Three Warriors won matches on the mat against Chase County: Tylor Neil defeated Ben Green 10-2 at 140, Charlie Holub defeated Garrett Benjamin 11-0 at 145, and Derek Riggs pinned Trenton Harshman at 215.

Marion was dominate against the hosts, giving away points at 103, 189 and 285 but defeating Burlington at nearly every other classification.

Six won by fall: Randy Regnier defeated Dallas Birk at 112, Andy Shipman defeated Nico Smith at 119, Dillon Wildin downed Trevor Kraft at 135, Hector Cardenas topped Nicholas Hawkins at 160 and Derek Riggs pinned Scott Jones.

Adam Regnier defeated Austin Birk 12-6. Tylor Neil beat Ethan Jones 2-1. Charlie Holub won 5-2 over Jacob Kopfman.

Coming?The Warriors visit Minneapolis Thursday. The JV wrestles at Council Grove and Hillsboro on Friday and Saturday, and the varsity has a double dual Jan. 3 at Hillsboro.
