Tabor baseball standout Andrew Perez was named Player-of-the-Game Wednesday.
Perez, an All-KCAC first-team performer this spring for Tabor, helped his summer league team, the Derby Twins, to a 3-1 comeback win over Liberal—one of the top teams in the Jayhawk League.
Perez, a shortstop, had three hits, scored one run and drove in another.
Coaches from the summer league teams choose players from colleges and universities all over the country. This allows players from smaller schools an opportunity to compete against high-level players.
For example, last Wednesday Perez was playing against two players from Kansas State.
Perez is fourth on his team in RBIs and has a .917 fielding percentage this summer.
