Big Brothers Big Sisters of Marion County has rescheduled its annual Bowl For Kids’ Sake fundraiser.
The new dates and times will be 9 p.m. Friday, April 19, and 1 p.m. Saturday, April 20, said Jackie Rice, BBBS director.
“The event had to be rescheduled because of the snowstorms in early March,” she said “Bowl for Kids’ Sake is a fun and easy way to help Big Brothers Big Sisters.”
The event, she said, is based on forming teams that solicit pledges from family, friends and coworkers to support BBBS.
In return, the team gets to bowl, enjoy refreshments, win prizes and receive a free T-shirt.
“The bowling event is the ‘thank you’ for raising the pledges,” she said.
Bowl For Kids’ Sake is BBBS largest fundraising event with all proceeds used to support the BBBS program in Marion County.
“Big Brothers Big Sisters served more than 70 Marion County children in 2012,” she said. “We have many more children on our waiting list and we anticipate that the need for support for children in our communities will continue to grow 2013.”
Those interested in forming a Bowl For Kids’ Sake team are encouraged to email Rice at email@example.com, or call 620-382-3800.
People can also register a team online at kansasbowls.org.
Team captain packets can be picked up at SherBowl Lanes, 131 S. Thorp, Marion.
“Whether you bowl or make a donation, you will make a positive, long-lasting impact on children in our community,” she said.
