Canton-Galva—The Eagles’ baseball team dropped a pair of home games Tuesday to Ell-Saline, 20-3 and 15-5.Seniors Taylor Myers and Nathan Bray pitched for CGHS, surrendering 14 earned runs while striking out 11.
At the plate, Myers collected a pair of singles and two runs-batted-in. Taylor Koehn and Kolby Moddelmog gathered two hits each, as did sophomore Bryan Little.
Canton-Galva was scheduled to travel to Halstead May 10.

Goessel—The Bluebirds were one of five teams competing in the Hillsboro CKTL meet April 26, where the boys took third with 38 points and the girls took third with 62 points.The girls were led by Tia Goertzen, who brought home four first-place medals in the triple jump (32 feet, 71?4 inches) 100-meter hurdles (17.15), 300-meter hurdles (51.9) and the 4x400 (4:40) with teammates Jessica Harvey, Ali Buller and Jennifer Van Horn.
John Berkholtz led the boys with first-place medals in the 200 meters and 400 meters. He placed third in the long jump (19-21?2) and 100 (11.94).
Goessel is scheduled to compete at the Remington Invitational Friday.

Centre—The Cougars’ golf team competed at the St. Mary’s Invitational April 26, finishing seventh out of 13 teams with a score of 376. For Centre, Adam Matz finished 17th with a score of 86. Tyler Klenda shot a 93, Trevor Hageberg finished with a 98 and Brian Burhoop posted a 99. Kodey Johnson shot a 103.
The?Cougars were scheduled to play May 3 at Marion before competing at the Marion County Invitational Friday.

Canton-Galva baseball—The Eagles baseball team was swept this week, losing to Sedgwick at home April 26 and then to Moundridge at home Friday.The Eagles lost Game 1 versus Sedgwick, 9-7, thanks to a four-run scoring burst by Sedgwick in the fifth inning.
Sedgwick crushed Canton-Galva in the second game, 23-5, propelled by a 16-run scoring explosion in the fifth inning.
The Eagles suffered an 8-2 loss in Game 1 against Moundridge. The games was tied at two runs at the bottom of the seventh, but a six-run spurt by Moundridge in the eighth gave them the victory.
Moundridge won Game 2, 12-2, due in part to a five-run rally in the third innning. The Eagles scored their two runs in the fourth and fifth innings.

Canton-Galva--The Eagles swept a doubleheader at Hutch Trinity April 19. The wins give them a 3-1 record for the season. The Eagles won Game 1, 20-1.
Canton-Galva led Trinity 4-1 in the bottom of the second inning, then racked up seven runs in the third inning and nine runs in the fifth inning for the win.
In Game 2, the Eagles won Trinity, 11-4, thanks to consistent scoring and a four-run fourth inning.
The Eagles were scheduled to host Sedgwick April 26, before hosting Moundridge Friday.
