Goessel High School senior Trey Schmidt signed a letter of intent Wednesday to play football next year at Tabor College. The quarterback/defensive back was a first-team all-league selection in 2011 and 2012. In his senior season, Schmidt recorded 1,757 passing yards (38 touchdowns) and 722 rushing yards (13 touchdowns). He had 132 tackles last season. In four years at Goessel, Schmidt racked up 2,729 yards passing (52 touchdowns), 916 yards rushing (18 touchdowns) and 249 total tackles.
