The Bluejays played for a convincing 82-64 win over Johnson & Wales University at this weekend’s Sterling Classic.

The Tabor men’s basketball team is still looking for its first win after the 0-5 Bluejays dropped a contest with Benedictine College Tuesday before going winless at the Tiger Classic this weekend, hosted by Doane College.Tabor took on Hastings College Saturday after playing the host team Friday.
“We are not completely healthy and have been using multiple lineups to survive the non-conference season,” said coach Micah Ratzlaff.
“So hopefully sooner than later we can get some consistent play and get on track.”

“We need to not be satisfied with that,” said coach Shawn Reed after Wednesday’s win.
“We need to be taking strides forward. There are no moral victories, we want real victories, and we earned one against a good team.”

Men’s soccer runner-up in KCAC tourney championship

The Tabor men’s soccer team earned its best finish in recent years, finishing runner-up in the KCAC championship tournament with a loss 4-2 to Kansas Wesleyan University on Saturday.After earning a first-round bye, the Bluejays defeated Ottawa University, 4-1, in the semifinals to advance to the finals.
Tabor finishes its season with a No. 2 standing in the KCAC and a conference record of 7-2. The Bluejays were 13-7 overall.
Graduating seniors include: Derick Burkhard, Ben Clark, Andre Vestfahl, David Simmet, Spencer Nemnich, David Ewert and Sergio Torres.

The loss comes after the Bluejays earned a tough five-game win over No. 5 seed Sterling College at home in the quarterfinals.
“Those are memories that I just wouldn’t trade for the world,” said coach Amy Ratzlaff after the quarterfinal win.
“God is good. He has brought us through a lot this season. We have had so much heartbreak. It was a hard start to the year.
