The Tabor College football team lost its final home game of the season to Southwestern, 26-20, on Saturday.

Anthony Davis, who started at quarterback in place of the injured Jason Aubrey, threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as the Bluejays leaned heavily on its passing game for the second straight week.

Davis tossed both scores in the first quarter, wiping out an early deficit.

The Moundbuilders got off to a fast start. On the third play from scrimmage, running back...

The graduation of key starters and off-season coaching changes both contributed to the Tabor College basketball teams losing ground in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference pre-season media and coaches polls Oct. 17 at Friends University in Wichita.

“It’s not surprising, being picked sixth—we lost some good players,” Winter said. “But I think not everybody is aware of the personnel we do have.”

Southwestern climbed from fourth in the spring standings to first in the polls.

“There’s a lot...

The Bluejays got off to a rocky start, punting to Bethel on a 3-and-out to start the game. With the wind at their backs, Bethel took over in Tabor territory.

The Bluejays seemed to have stopped the Threshers cold when Clayton Kessler dragged Brett Clow down 6 yards behind the line of scrimmage to bring up fourth-and-14.

But Bethel went to the air and connected for a 24-yard completion from Clow to Lance Francis. Then Anthony Melton hammered his way into the end zone, giving the Threshers a quick 7-0 lead and temporarily silencing the energetic homecoming crowd at Reimer Field.
