Despite Lyons High School’s best efforts to gain the upper hand—including a stirring rendition of Abba’s 1975 mega-hit “Dancing Queen” incorporated by the marching band into pre-game homecoming festivities—the Marion Warriors cruised to a 28-0 win Friday.

Chase Carlson recorded his first touchdown reception, a 29-yarder from Mitchell Leppke and Marion took a 6-0 lead with 3:19 left in the first quarter.

On the play Carlson sprinted straight through double-coverage, but got tangled up with a defender and fell just as he was...

The Tabor College volleyball team closed the book on the first half of its conference season by defeating Southwestern (30-17, 30-22, 30-17) and improving its record to 6-3.

“We have won plenty of championships with three losses, and we will definitely have to take care of business to get that done,” coach Amy Ratzlaff said.

“It’s exciting—we’ll definitely be peaking at the right time, and we won’t go through that mid-season lull because we’ve already been there.

“Hopefully, we’ll continue to get better game by game, and by the end of the season be a completely different team than when we started,” she added.

Led by 10 kills from Taylor Lawrence, Tabor finished off nearly 32 percent of its attacks against the...

Sunday was a tough day to be a pro football fan in Kansas. After being...

Abilene High School senior Gina Hullet has signed letters of intent to play basketball and volleyball next year for Tabor College.

The versatile athlete currently is leading the Cowgirls’ volleyball team toward another berth in the Class 4A state tournament.

“I am ecstatic to have Gina join our program,” said Amy Ratzlaff, Tabor volleyball coach. “She is certainly an impact player on her team, which has proven itself to be a very solid and competitive volleyball program. Not only will Gina bring a big dose of height, athleticism and talent to the program, but her team spirit will be an asset as well.”

Last season, Gina led Abilene to the North Central Kansas League volleyball championship and a runner-up finish at sub-state...
