Two Hillsboro High School seniors, Nicholas Ediger and Grant Shewey, have been named presidential leadership fellows by Tabor College.
“We are excited to recognize these outstanding student leaders,” Tabor president Jules Glanzer said. “They are young people with integrity, heart and a passion to serve. It will be a pleasure to welcome them to our community, interact with them and the other fellows and watch them grow and develop into outstanding leaders.”
As a leadership fellow, each earned a $1,000 scholarship. The 26 individuals who were selected as fellows were selected from an extensive pool of candidates who were finalists for the college’s Presidential Leadership Scholarship.
Presidential leadership fellows will experience mentoring by Glanzer, develop leadership skills through regular meetings and discussions as a class of fellows and serve the campus student population while pursuing academic achievements in the classroom.
Tabor initiated the Presidential Leadership Scholarship program in 2011. The selection process included an extensive application. Finalists were invited to the Hillsboro campus to participate in a competitive process which evaluated their skills in the areas of public speaking, writing, group problem solving and interactions with other students.
