“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” the lively retelling of the biblical story of Joseph and his 11 brothers, is returning to Tabor College this fall as the homecoming musical.
“‘Joseph’ was enthusiastically received by Tabor’s homecoming audiences nine years ago and is, in a sense, back by popular demand,” said director Judy Harder, associate professor of communications and theater. “Because of the amount of interest, we have added a Wednesday performance. We are anticipating five sellout shows.”
Robert Howell will play Joseph, Hannah Evans will be the narrator and Lyndon Vix, an attorney from Wichita and chair of the Tabor College Board of Directors, will play Jacob, the family patriarch.
Joseph’s brothers will be played by Nolan Dirks, Tyler Jones, Trevor Morris, Silas Pederson, Tim Roesch, Kruze Sanders, Alex Schmidt, Jesse Todd, Kelyn Vix, Nathan Vogel and Ben Wiens.
Playing the parts of the women in the story will be Andrea Acker, Jessica Coldwell, Cheyenne Derksen, Abi Epp, Natalie Hartzell, Marissa Hiett and Olivia Kliewer.
Of special interest to the Hillsboro community is the involvement of eight local children: Eva Franz, Paul Glanzer, Jenna Hinerman, Ellie Nobel, Emma Nobel, Eva Nobel, Caleb Rempel and Millie Sechrist.
Supporting the cast are those assisting with the music, choreography and costumes to make this musical a unique performance.
Show times are 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, Oct. 3-6, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct.7.
Tickets for the Wednesday performance will be $10 for adults, $6 for students and $4 for children 12 and under. For the other four performances the prices are: adults $12; students $8; 12 and under $4.
Performances will be in the Tabor College Chapel, so seating is limited. To reserve seats, call Kaylene at 620-947-3121 ext. 1033 or e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
