The Goessel Goal Getters 4-H met at 7 p.m. June 4 in the Goessel Elementary School with the roll call of: What are your plans for the summer? TA total of 36 people were present.

From the council representative, we learned that play day on from 1 p.m. to 5 pm. June 30 will follow the theme, “At the Hop,” and a lot of fun things are planned for this event.

We also learned about the ambassador program starting for older members. There are also fair changes to look forward to, such as the replacement of the hay bale decorating contest with the scarecrow contest and a new class for recycled clothing with a sewing part. There will also be a bedding fee for livestock this year.

Our leaders discussed coming events and how selling of the raffle tickets to the Kansas State games and half a hog could really help our club as half of the proceeds will comes back to the club.

The talks for the evening included: Zach Duerksen about his cat with a talk titled, “The attack of the radioactive hairballs;” Deven Gaddis with a rocketry talk, “3…2…1…Blast Off!” and Dustyn Gaddis with a Super Salad talk.

We voted to continue doing the highway pickup. Our next meeting will be the club tour on Saturday, June 23, visiting three different places and concluding with a potluck in the park.
