Balloon launch marks 100 years

In celebration of the Girl Scouts’ 100th birthday, Daisy leaders in Marion organized a balloon launch March 14. Ann Carr, one of the organizers, said attached to each balloon was a tag explaining the 100th anniversary and asking for an e-mail response if the note was found. In addition to Daisy Girl Scouts, about 50 other people attended the event. In the photo at right, the Scouts sign a poster marking the centennial.
