For his Eagle project, Clark built two park benches, rebuilt and repainted all the playground equipment and replanted grass at Durham’s city park.
The son of Lee and Jane Clark, Jim’s project demonstrated leadership, service, outdoor skills and service to the community, to go along with the 22 merit badges he’s earned.
Nationally, only 2 percent to 5 percent of boys who begin the Scouts program go on to earn Eagle Scout. Clark is the fourth person in Hillsboro Troup 129 who has reached that achievement within the past 11 months.
The other three Eagle Scouts are Jon Krause, Zach Luthi and Travis Riesen.
