Goessel high school and junior high musicians were selected through audition for statewide honor groups this year.

FFA members host kids’ petting zoo

Hillsboro Elementary School students pet a chicken held by Hillsboro High FFA member Nathan Unruh during the second annual petting zoo March 12. Groups of students followed a rotation of stops, where FFA members informed the children about the animals and exhibits. Participating members included Ethan Oborny (tractor), Bryce Roberts (sheep), Lauren and Lisa Geis (miniature horse), Andrew Meier (beef calf), Taylor Carlson (dairy calf), Maci Schlehuber (feeds), Nathan Unruh (chickens) and Kale Arnold (goats). Goessel junior high musicians compete at league festival

Five Goessel Junior High music groups received “I” ratings at the Wheat State League Music Festival March 5 at Goessel.The GJHS band, choir, girls ensemble, boys ensemble and select mixed ensemble earned top scores.
The following students performed vocal solos: Tiana Base, Leah Booton, Olivia Duerksen, Eden Hiebert, Lauren Hiebert, Riley Jarvis, Emily Meier, Madeline Meier, Joshua Schmidt, Nathaniel Schmucker, Kaytlin Shipp, Autumn Strecker, Shelbi Stultz and Lanna Wagner.
