Hillsboro High names students to honor rolls

Hillsboro High School has released its honor rolls for the second semester of the 2006-07 school year.

To be named to the high honor roll, a student needs a grade-pointaverage between 4.0 and 3.7. For those students at the high-schoollevel, an asterisk (*) denotes a 4.0 GPA.

To be named to the honor roll, a GPA of 3.69 to 3.2 is required.

Marion schools release 4th-quarter honor rolls

Marion High School and Marion Middle School have released theirrespective honor rolls for the fourth quarter of the 2006-07 schoolyear.

To be named to the high honor roll, a student needs a grade-pointaverage between 4.0 and 3.75. An asterisk (*) denotes a 4.0 GPA.

To be named to the regular honor roll, a GPA of 3.74 and 3.5 is required.

To be named to the honorable mention honor roll, students need a GPA between 3.49 and 3.0.

Centre FFA brings home state awards

Centre FFA members celebrated another successful State Convention May 29-June 1 in Manhattan.

The Par-Law team finished second in the state with team members Gloria Belton,Kristine Jirak, Tye Remy, Dallas Rosenow, Julie Rziha and Allie Will.

The Leadership Information Team was recognized for its fifth-place finish with team members Julie Rziha in fourth and Nellie Hill in sixth.

Harder graduates from seminary

Ruth Harder graduated May 19 with a Master of Divinity degree from Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, Ind.

Harder will begin in August as associate pastor at Bethel College Mennonite Church in North Newton.

Harder earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from Bethel College in North Newton.

She is a member of First Mennonite Church in Hillsboro and is married to Jesse Graber. She is the daughter of Keith and Judy Harder of Hillsboro.

 

Andrews receives Incentive Award

Lora Andrews, a 2007 graduate of Hillsboro High School, has received the Alpha Omega Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International’s Incentive Award for 2007.

The $500 award is given to young women planning to major in education and attend a Kansas college.

Andrews is the daughter of Gary and Sally Andrews.

She plans to attend Kansas State University and major in secondary education.
