Partly Nonsense

It was dueling remotes at the Klaassen household this past week. This has never happened before and I hope it never happens again. It all started the other night when I dozed off in the recliner. I must have hit one of the buttons on the remote by accident in my sleepy stupor, which will make sense in just a bit.
When I awoke and it was time to watch again, I wasn’t able to change channels without the channel going somewhere I didn’t intend for it to go. This went on for several minutes and a lot of muttering went on during this time.
Soon Nancy appeared from the front bedroom where she had been watching the other TV and couldn’t make the remote work correctly either.
It took a while, but we discovered that the remote had set...

I thought I should take some time and watch the high school volleyball team since they had a tournament in town this past Saturday. The balls were white, but I swear I saw some mustard on them when our gals smashed them over the net. Many times the serves were not returned. It was really fun to watch.

When it comes to comparing sports teams or other competitive groups, the common cliche is that they all put on their pants one leg at a time. In effect it means everyone should be about equal to the task at hand. For example, this is not always true. The Wildcats and Jayhawks probably put their pants on one leg at a time and look what happens year in and year out when it comes to the football teams and the outcomes of the games in the recent past.
I have found it can be dangerous to put your pants on one leg at a time. Recently, I was doing this act when I didn’t get the second leg high enough and caught my foot in the pocket of my jeans. As a result I was on the floor before I knew what happened. Luckily there was enough space...

Technology has never been more amazing than it is now—but it’s also never been more challenging. While you can do so much more, there is so much more that can go wrong. And baling wire doesn’t work anymore.Case in point. For some time we have had some issues with our story submission and online store modules of our Free Press website. We believe we have fixed them now and apologize for any inconvenience we have caused those who have been trying to interact with us in this way. It’s all in the settings.

I’ve been to my eye doctor, and now I know I can see as good as I can see. He says my glasses are doing the best they can for me. The next thing is fixing the cataracts when they get bad enough. I am told it is a matter...

Do you know when it’s time to get your eyes checked? The other day I was walking back to the production area at our office and thought I saw a sheet cake with orange frosting sitting on the table. In reality it was just a piece of orange paper on top of a satchel. Or does it mean that I was very hungry?
Anyway, I have an appointment at the eye doctor down the street to get the old eyes checked this week.

I have a theory about why people park where they do for the Arts and Crafts fair. I think it’s like the flocks of birds that have been hanging around town the past few weeks.
One day they are all over here, then the next day they are all over there. I think people change where they park based on what happened the previous...
