Symbolically rich

? Tabor fittingly broke ground for its fine arts center with the hands-on help of its supporters.

B lending voices and farm implements from the past with goals and dreams for the future, Tabor College broke ground Saturday for its $12 million Shari Flaming Center for the Arts. We enjoyed hearing the reflections shared by former and current faculty and presidents. But the indelible image from the afternoon will be the dozens of volunteers who accepted the invitation to provide the power needed to turn sod with an antique plow. The effort was rich in symbolism. From Tabor?s founding in 1908, the school has persevered through the determination of committed supporters and staff. Relatively few have been financially endowed; most have simply found a place to grab the rope and join with others to pull the college into its Divine future. Keep the plow moving, Tabor. ?DR
