Efforts appreciated for Memorial Day tribute

I would like to thank the Hillsboro American Legion for its continued service to our community in having the Memorial Day program.

Thank-you to all who give of their time and energy to put up and take down the flags and the lights in the park.

It’s such a beautiful sight to see our flags flying in the breeze in the daytime, but also at night during this holiday weekend.

Also appreciate the service on Memorial Day and all of you who are a part of it, to give us a fitting tribute to the men and women who have given their lives for us and our country.

May our great, awesome God bless each and every one of you.

Grateful to Dahl for speech and service

Thank-you, Commander Dahl, for the impressive speech you gave on Memorial Day. And thank you to the Free Press for publishing the full text of the speech in the June 6 issue.

It is vitally important that citizens and students know the history of this country in order to keep us a strong, Christian nation blessed by God instead of sheep leading to secularism.

Thank-you, Commander Dahl, for your many years of service to our country, both while serving in the military and then many years of service in the Kansas government.

God bless you, and God bless the U.S.A.
