All income levels can leave a legacy
I want to commend Jared Jost, Hillsboro Community Foundation and the Leave a Legacy campaign for their efforts to raise our awareness regarding the many benefits of establishing a legacy for future generations and strengthening our community at the same time.
At MB Foundation, we have the privilege of helping folks across the nation pass on their values and leave a legacy for future generations. Many wonderful ministries and service agencies will benefit from over $100 million of gift expectancies that we have helped establish and the funds are “in the pipeline” for the benefit of future generations.
Here in Hillsboro, we are abundantly blessed with many excellent charities that are working hard to make our local community, and the world, a better place. Not every community is so fortunate. We would each do well to consider our part in contributing to their success and the future of Hillsboro.
It has been reported by Revolution in Generosity that “90 percent or more of charitable bequests and a large percentage of bequest dollars are realized from the estates of lower and middle income persons who are seeking to make their ‘gift of a lifetime.’”
You don’t have to consider yourself wealthy before you can consider how to leave a legacy. All of us can leave a mark on this community and encourage future generations to do the same.
