Thanks, Linda

Marion County is blessed with an extraordinary number of people who sacrificially give of themselves to ensure that this is a nurturing environment in which to live, work and raise a family.
Few people rank higher on that list than Linda Ogden, who will be retiring at the end of this month after working fiercely for more than two decades to shape the evolution of children and family services in this county. Though Ogden is quick to credit the involvement of partners in this effort, she personally has done extraordinary work to help transform our county from an under-serving provider to a state leader in effective programming and networking for assisting families that face challenges.
Ogden has helped to secure more than $2.5 million in grants in a no-holds-barred effort to meet human needs. “Whatever it takes,” has been her mantra, and she has followed through with persistence.
Linda, you deserve this chance to slow down, but we know you well enough to realize you will never quit. By strengthening families, you have made all of us stronger. —DR
