Milferd and Marilyn (Flaming) Schmidt of rural Canton celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary recently.
The couple were married May 1, 1953, at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in Goessel.
They have three children to include Loren Schmidt and wife Sandy of Canton, Anne and husband Mark Burch of Goessel and Susan Berry, deceased, and husband Bruce Berry of Ohio.

O.W. (Bill) and Ruth E. Weber Demain will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at the Peabody Senior Center, 106 N. Walnut, Peabody.
They were married April 27, 1963 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 909 S. Market by pastor L. H. Deffner. Bill spent his working years in various police and security jobs. His wife spent 50 years in communications.
Both retired from Shangri-La Resort on Monkey Island, Okla., in 2003. At that time they returned to make their home in Peabody.

Canton couple to celebrate 60 years
The children of Rex and Barb Morton request a card shower honoring their parents 60th wedding anniversary Friday, April 5.
The couple was married in 1953 at the Methodist Church in Brookville.
He is retired from Kansas Power & Light Co., and his wife retired from Canton Lockers.
The Mortons have three children including Greg and wife Jody, and Rexann and husband Rick Rouse, all of Canton, and Gail and husband Dan Unruh of Galva.
The couple have five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The children of Don and Ladonna Schlicht Westbrook of Canton are planning a 40th anniversary open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Canton Community Building, 100 S. Main St., Canton.
The couple were married March 9, 1973, and are lifetime residents of Canton.
Don has been employed at AGCO-Hesston for 43 years and his wife is employed at the Canton-Galva Middle School in the cafeteria.
Their children are Dale Westbrook and Joey Dawes, all of Canton, and Heather and John McCage of Tuttle, Okla.
The couple’s grandchildren include Thayne, Jacob and Jalen of Tuttle, Okla., and Logan, Jaiden and Kinsey of Canton.
The couple request no gifts.
