Halloween-related activities were the highlight of the weekend for local kids of all ages
Hundreds of children dressed in Halloween costumes visited local businesses Friday for the annual Trick or Treat Main Street sponsored by the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce. Dillon Boldt dressed as Uncle Sam, and Tracy Dawson as Mr. Incredible.

Tracy Melnyk, dressed as a happy clown, handed out candy to Scooby Doo,
Elmo, a bumblebee, a bear, and other young people in creative garb.

Superwoman Melissa Batterton and son Reed participated in the first Great Pumpkin Race sponsored by First Mennonite Church on Saturday morning. Participants, 111 in all, were invited to dress in costumes for the 5-kilometer run and walk.
