Fundraiser planned for HHS student

A soup-and-pie supper is being planned for 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at the Hillsboro Scout House as a fundraiser to help meet ongoing medical expenses for Thane Hurst, a Hillsboro High School student who underwent two surgeries for a spinal tumor this summer.

The menu includes chili or chicken-noodle soup, homemade bread, pie and a drink. The meal is available as dine-in or carry-out.

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, a financial services membership organization, will donate up to $2,000 on a 2-to-1 match on local donations.
