A fun family fling at Florence

Natalie Sigel of Marion watches as Little Bit the Clown makes a balloon animal for her during the Spring Fling on Sunday in the Florence gymnasium on Dean Street.

Mellissa Swarm of Florence paints Bethany Grimmitt?s cheek. Cheryl Steward of Florence is standing in the background. ?This is the second year I was invited to paint faces,? Swarm said, ?and I enjoy it.?

Tracye Warner, one of the event coordinators, said this event is what makes the annual Labor Day celebration possible. Proceeds from the Spring Fling average between $1,500-$2,000, she said. More than 75 children took part in the games provided by the Florence Labor Day Committee.
