Goessel Scholars Bowl team claims third place at state

The Goessel Scholars Bowl team captured third place Saturday at the Class 1A Division I state tournament at Flinthills High School. The team collected four wins and one loss in the preliminary rounds, propelling them to the finals. The team then posted a 3-2 record in the championship rounds. The tiebreaker system awarded Goessel the third-place trophy. Coach Wes Schmidt-Tieszen and assistant coach Gina Bergen provided mentoring on Saturday and all season.
