Mission possible: Trojans repeat as 3A state champs

The Hillsboro High School volleyball team earned its second consecutive Class 3A state championship Saturday with a sweep of Garden Plain in the finals at the Bicentennial Center in Salina. It was the first time Hillsboro has won back-to-back titles in volleyball—adding to the spirit of celebration, as depicted in these photos.

Even as the official signals the final point for Hillsboro, Trojan teammates rush to rejoice. Those in on the final play included Shannon Heiser (27), Addie Lackey (13), Maci Schlehuber (12) as well as (from left) Erin Loewen, Tena Loewen and an airborne Alex Ratzlaff.
