TC women run sixth at Lake Afton

The Tabor College cross-country teams ran at Lake Afton in Wichita on Saturday.

The women’s squad had three runners out but still placed sixth out of 14 teams in its first full-distance run of the season.

“We were not at full strength for this meet,” coach Karol Hunt said. “Shelby Miller, Amber Wiens and Tesheena Ruzinsky were not able to compete because of injuries.”

The Tabor College volleyball team swept opponents Avila, Central Christian, Bacone and Stephens at the McPherson College Classic on Friday and Saturday, to open the season with a 4-0 non-conference mark.

Tabor CC teams 5th, 7th in opener

The Tabor College cross-country teams visited Baker University on Saturday for the first meet of the season.

The Tabor women placed fifth in a field of 10. The men placed seventh out of nine teams.

Running a 3.2 kilometer race instead of the 5 kilometer standard used in mid-season runs, Liz Kleinsasser led the women’s team with a 12-minute, 22-second run good for sixth place among 86 finishers.

“She had an outstanding start to her college career,” coach Karol Hunt said.
