Seminary dean named next TC president

After a seven-month search, Jules Glanzer, current dean of George Fox Evangelical Seminary in Portland, Ore., has accepted an invitation from the Board of Directors of Tabor College to lead the college into its second century as president.

He will succeed Larry Nikkel, who is retiring at the end of the calendar year.

Tampa woman is state's first senior spelling champ

After successfully spelling the word “surreptitious,” Jane Vajnar waited for the next word, which if spelled correctly, would make her the first Kansas Senior Spelling Bee champion.

For the win, Vajnar, a 68-year-old from Tampa, correctly spelled “writhe.”
