The Goessel Scholars Bowl team captured third place Saturday at the Class 1A Division I state tournament at Flinthills High School. The team collected four wins and one loss in the preliminary rounds, propelling them to the finals.The team then posted a 3-2 record in the championship rounds. The tiebreaker system awarded Goessel the third-place trophy. Coach Wes Schmidt-Tieszen and assistant coach Gina Bergen provided mentoring on Saturday and all season. Pictured above (from left)...

That was the assessment of Clint Seibel, the city’s economic development director, when he updated the city council on five key indicators of the town’s economic health during the council’s Feb. 4 meeting.
“I think this town can be real pleased as to where it’s going right now,” Seibel said.

After receiving votes for the past two weeks, the Bluejays finally broken into the national poll at No. 25.
