Franklin acquitted in death of Tabor student

After less than two hours of deliberation, a jury decided last Tuesday that a former McPherson College football player was not guilty of second-degree murder in the beating death of Tabor College student Brandon Brown last fall.A McPherson County jury of seven men and five women began deliberating shortly before noon in the seven-day of trial for 20-year-old Dallas native Alton Franklin.

Michelle Bosworth of Hillsboro and Lloyd and Nicholas Davies of Marion, (pictured from left), spent more than one hour collecting litter along the rocky spillway area of Marion Reservoir Saturday as part of the annual cleanup day.
The 11th annual Marion Reservoir Cleanup Day drew more than 25 volunteers, who picked up trash around the reservoir as well as all connecting waterways and riparian zones. Davies said the volunteers were split into three groups in order to hit “hot”...

Tabor College to dedicate newest residence hall

Harms Residence Hall at Tabor College will be officially dedicated at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27.The public is welcome to attend the dedication and ribbon cutting. This event was rescheduled from February due to a snowstorm. The 16-unit residence hall is located at 502 E. B St.
Following the ceremony and ribbon cutting, guided tours of the facility will be available for the public.
