USDA commodities arriving Oct. 11

USDA commodities will arrive at senior centers in Marion County on Thursday, Oct. 11. Each site will distribute them according to their own schedule and may not distribute on the same day.

Those receiving commodities are asked to contact their local site for a distribution schedule.

If there are no commodities left at a specific site, call the Marion County Department on Aging at 620-382-3580 to find out where commodities are available.

These items are for people who are income eligible and should be picked up from local distribution sites.

The new income guidelines as of April 1, 2012, include household size and maximum monthly gross income.

For one person, the income is $1,211; for two, $1,640; three, $2069; and four, $2,498.

For each additional family member add $429.
