Hillsboro FFA plans annual tree pickup

The Hillsboro FFA chapter will conduct its annual Christmas tree pickup on Saturday, Jan. 6.

Curb-side pickup and a drop-off spot at the county fairgrounds will be available that day.

Trees will be delivered to the Hillsboro Cove.

Hillsboro rec to offer basic aerobics class

The Hillsboro Recreation Commission will offer an eight-week aerobics basics course beginning Monday, Jan. 8.

Melanie Johnson will lead the class at 7 p.m. each Monday in the west classroom at city hall.

PEO chapter plans Jan. 8 meeting

The PEO Chapter DB will meet Monday, Jan. 8, at Eastmoor United Methodist Church.

The Mennonite Heritage Museum in Goessel will be open by appointment only through March 1.

AARP driving course set for Jan. 10, 12

An AARP defensive-driving class will be taught by Jona Baltzer from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 10 and 12 at the Hillsboro Senior Center.

For a $10 fee, participants of any driving age may complete both days to be eligible for auto-insurance discounts.

Bible study starting for Goessel women

A weekly Bible study will be held for women in the Goessel area starting from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9.

Storytime starting Jan. 17 at library

Signup has begun for the next three-month session of storytime for 3-year-olds through kindergartners at the Hillsboro Public Library, set to begin Jan. 17 and 18.

Classes will be offered from 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 1:45 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesdays and from 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursdays.

Class sizes are limited to 12 children each, so visit or call the library at 947-3827 to enroll in the $3 class.

The library also will offer a free 15-minute laptime session for 18-month-olds through 2-year-olds and a parent at 10:15 .m. on the first and third Tuesday mornings of each month starting Jan. 16. Call the library to sign up.
