Strong City arts & crafts fair, Nov. 24Strong City will hold its annual arts and crafts fair in conjunction with the Chase County Christmas celebration. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24 at St. Anthony’s Hall.

Centre Elementary to honor veterans
Centre Elementary School will present “A Salute to Our Veterans” at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12. The public is invited to attend.

Mary Franz celebrated her 101st birthday with family members and Park Village residents Oct. 9 at Park Village.
She was born Oct. 10, 1906, to Susie and Klaas Wiens of Henderson, Neb. In 1928, she was married to George Franz who predeceased her in 1980 after 52 years of marriage.
She has three sons, Robert and Darlene of Hillsboro, Roger and Lawanda of Sanger, Calif., and George and Judy of Fresno, Calif.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.Open house for Eugene Franzen

Clara Bredemeier of Marion will celebrate her centennial birthday with God and worshippers at Valley United Methodist Church in Marion. Following the service she will share events of her life over dinner and a social gathering of immediate family members.
She was born Oct. 23, 1907, to Susan Jane and William Hammer in Lincolnville. In 1929 she was married to Herbert L. Bredemeier, who predeceased her in 2003 after 74 years of marriage.
She has two children, a son, Richard “Dick” and Evelyn Bredemeier of Marion, and a daughter, Laura Jane Bredemeier of Petaluma, Calif.; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

CDDO to meet Monday, Oct. 15The Harvey-Marion County Community Developmental Disability Organization (CDDO) will meet at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15 in the Community Room at the Harvey County Courthouse. The meeting is open to the public.
