Deines, Hajek exchange vows
Jessica Lynn Deines and Andrew John Hajek, both of Tampa, were married at 4 p.m. Sept. 1.
The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Alan Stahlecker at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Herington.
The bride’s parents are Jeff and Gayla Deines of Ramona. The groom’s parents are John and Carla Hajek of Tampa.
Grandparents of the bride are Mervin and Leona Deines of Ramona. Grandfather of the groom is Lowell Barten of Hope.
Acolytes were Makenzie Deines of Ramona, cousin of the bride, and Nichole Taylor of Abilene, cousin of the groom.
Musicians included organist Lynley Remy of Burdick and trumpeter Kenny Roe of Herington.
Vocalists Terry Deines of Ramona and Rachel Riedy of Topeka sang “Keeper of the Stars” during unity candle lighting.
The bride’s dress was a fitted A-line Allure bridal gown constructed of soft organza with customized sweetheart neckline adorned with beadwork and crystals. The gown had an organza skirt and ruching throughout the bodice with features of embroidery, crystals and organza criss crosses.
The diamond hand-tied bouquet of orange spider Gerbera daisies, lavender pixies, purple veronicas and deep purple calla lilies and mixed greens was designed by Tamara Christiansen of Durham.
The maid of honor was Shelby Deines of Abilene, sister of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Megan Suffield of Marion and Samantha Coup of Lawrence, both cousins of the bride; Amy Hajek of Tampa, sister of the groom; and Julie Smith of Rolla, Mo., friend of the bride.
Flower girls were Haley Suffield of Marion, cousin of the bride; and Karley Hillyer of Overland Park, cousin of the groom.
The best man was Alex Hajek of Tampa, brother of the groom.
Groomsmen were Justin Deines of Ramona, brother of the bride; Thomas Elliott of Columbus, Mo.;Tyler Richmond of Marion and Kyle Pope of Pittsburg, all friends of the groom.
Ringbearers were Samuel Rziha of Tampa, friend of the bride and groom; and Joshua Deines of Sterling, Colo., cousin of the bride.
Ushers were Andrew Willhaus of Manhattan, friend of the groom; David Rziha of Tampa and Ryan Hummel of Abilene, both friends of the bride and groom; and Bryant Gutsch of Lincolnville, cousin of the groom.
The reception was at Herington Community Building and catered by Marissa Makovec of Ramona. The menu included roast beef, cheesy potatoes, corn, green beans, vegetable trays and rolls.
Guestbook greeters at the reception were Sarah Mincher of Overland Park and Marissa Rose of Hutchinson.
Reception cake helpers were Alisha Barney, Leann Pankratz, Chelsey Tajchman and Nichole Rowley.
The bride is a 2007 graduate of Centre High School and 2008 graduate from the American Academy of Cosmetology in Manhattan. She is employed at the Marion County Appraiser’s office.
The groom is a 2005 graduate of Centre High School and a 2009 graduate of Kansas State University earning a degree in agricultural economics. He is a family farmer and employed as a salesman with Pioneer Seeds.
The couple honeymooned on Big Island and Oahu, both Hawaiian islands.
Following their honeymoon, the couple reside outside of Tampa.
