Wedel and Spencer married in Goessel

Megan Wedel of Goessel and Aaron Spencer of Ottawa were married at 5 p.m. Aug. 20 at Goessel Mennonite Church, 109 S. Church, Goessel, with Pastor Mike Hiebert officiating the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Ron and Becky Wedel of Goessel and was escorted down the aisle by her father.

The groom is the son of Kevin and Linda Spencer of Ottawa.

The maid of honor was Jessie Fensky of Moundridge, friend of the bride.

Bridesmaids were Olivia Quiring of Newton, friend of the bride; Jenny Spencer of Ottawa, sister-in-law of the groom, and Heidi Boese of Hesston, friend of the bride.

The best man was Kirk Mille of Pamona, friend of the groom.

Groomsmen were Matt Jones friend of the groom; Brad Spencer, brother of the groom, and Kipper Wolken, friend of the groom, all of Ottawa.

The flower girl was Peyton Neufeld of Hesston, cousin of the bride. The ring bearer was Ross Spencer of Ottawa, son of the groom.

Guestbook attendants were Lindsey Wedel of Goessel and Janessa Wedel of Wichita, both friends of the bride.

Ushers were Chad Wedel, brother of the bride, and Bob Wedel, uncle of the bride, both of Goessel.

Gift carriers were Adrian Neufeld of McPherson and Avery Nuce of Hesston, both cousins of the bride.

Cake servers were Angie Neufeld and Mindy Nuce, both of Hesston and both cousins of the bride, and Lacey Lowder of Aberdeen, Idaho.

Musicians were Lucinda Hiebert of Goessel and Jake Schmidt of Buhler.

A reception was at the Engine Club Building on the Mennonite Heritage Museum grounds, Goessel.

Tim and Katie Wedel of Goessel and Daryl and Jacque Wedel of Newton, aunts and uncles of the bride, hosted the event.

The bride is a 2007 graduate of Goessel High School and a 2011 graduate of Hesston College. She is employed as a registered nurse at Newman Regional Health, Emporia.

The groom is a 2003 graduate of Ottawa High School and works at Spencer Farms in Ottawa.

The couple are at home in Ottawa.
