Couple exchange vows in Mexico
Karen Spalding and Scott Hannaford of Lees Summit, Mo., were married May 29 under a purple canopy on beaches overlooking the ocean in the Rivera Maya, Mexico.
The bride is the daughter of Jim and Diana Spalding of Lees Summit, Mo. The groom is the son of Roger and Sally Hannaford of Marion.
The groom is the grandson of Roger and Lavonne Hannaford and Jerry Harp, all of Marion, and the late Gene Ferguson and Luella Ferguson Harp.
The maid of honor was Lauren Spataro, the bride’s sister, and Jill Hannaford, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid.
Mike Helmer served as best man for his brother.
Following the afternoon wedding, a dinner was served at the resort in honor of the bride and groom and guests.
Thirty-six friends and family members flew to Mexico for the wedding.
A reception on June 19 was hosted by the bride’s parents and held in Kansas City, Mo., at the Club One Thousand.
The groom’s parents hosted a reception June 26 at the Marion Country Club in Marion.
The bride is an accountant for Ronald Caster L.C., CPA firm in Overland Park. The groom is the Kansas area manager for Agents National Title Insurance of Columbia, Mo.
The couple reside in Olathe.
