Public invited to vesper serviceAlexanderwohl Mennonite Church is inviting the public to its Christmas Vesper Service at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5.
The service will include two music groups singing a variety of Christmas carols, according to pastor Linda Ewert. The groups are the Alexanderwohl Young Men’s Quartet and Jammin’ Biscuits, a bluegrass and gospel vocal group.
Refreshments and fellowship will follow the service, she said. The church is one mile north of Goessel on Kansas...

Elaine Reynolds and Michael Yates of McPherson were married Oct. 17 at the Marriott in Olde Town, Wichita, with pastor Mark Hoover officiating.Parents of the couple are William and Freda Reynolds of Wichita, and Dave Yates and Margo Yates, both of Marion.
The bride’s grandmother is Reva Reynold. The groom’s grandparents are Mary Yates of Durham and Richard and Ruth Mettlen of McPherson.
The maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Teresa Rotramel of Dayton, Ohio. Bridesmaids were Diana Goforth of Wichita and Sarah Shipley of Towanda.
The best man was James Davis of Halstead. Groomsmen were Marcos Resendiz of Plano, Texas, and Samuel Smith of Kechi.

Bartel, Groening wed in SeptemberHannah Bartel of Cimarron and Ross Groening of Dodge City exchanged wedding vows at 2 p.m. Sept. 4 at Emmanuel Mennonite Church in Meade.
The double-ring ceremony was officiated by pastor Mike Whalen.
Parents of the bride are Harlan and Karla Bartel of Cimarron. Parents of the groom are Jerry and Sherri Groening of Marion.
Grandparents of the bride are Paul and Lenora Wray of Walsh, Colo., and Ben Bartel of Meade. Grandparents of the groom are Tillie Schmidt of Marion and Irma Groening of Hillsboro.
The bride was escorted by her father.
The maid of honor was Sarah Bartel, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Esther Bartel, Abigail Bartel and Ruth Bartel, sisters of the bride.

Harding, Evancho marry in WichitaDanielle Harding and Michael Evancho exchanged wedding vows at 10:30 a.m. July 3 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Wichita with Father Jerome Spexarth officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Paul and Janice Harding of Wichita. The groom is the son of Demitry and Pat Evancho of Marion.
Witnesses for the bride were her brothers, Robert and Matthew Harding. Witnesses for the groom were his brothers, David and Nick Evancho.
Ushers were Mike Jenkins of Hillsboro and Wade West of Wichita.
The bride's grandmother, Frances M. Harding was also in attendance.

Spring, Willems exchange vowsDiana Jean Spring and Chad Aaron Willems, both of Seattle, Wash., were married at 4 p.m. Sept. 5 in Bend, Ore.
The wedding took place in the yard of the Basalt Bungalow, a vacation home owned by the couple.
Red Chinese lanterns decorated the yard for the ceremony, along with chrysanthemums in fall colors.
Pastor Mary Ellen Deckelman of Bend officiated the ceremony. Guitar music was provided by Corey Passons of Seattle, friend of the couple. Angela Spring of Portland, sister of the bride and Matt Willems of Lone Tree, Colo., brother of the groom, participated in the ceremony as witnesses.
