hillsboro senior center
Welcome to January. We hope you can come and eat with us soon at the senior center. We are needing more volunteers to help from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or after. You can do one or more days a week and pick the same day every month to work. You get a meal the day you help, so please, if you can, let us know at the center or call 947-2304 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. We are also looking for new programs for the new year. If anyone has suggestions, let us know. You get a meal for presenting a program to us. We enjoy music, travel, etc.
We will have our jam session on Thursday, Jan. 14 after the noon meal. If you play music, come and join in. Mondays we have games and fellowship after the noon meal and every Wednesday we play bingo after the noon meal. We will have footcare on Tuesday, Jan. 19 and hearing aid checks with Haris Zafar on Wednesday, Jan. 20. We will also have chair massages at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13. Thanks to everyone for donations and support during the last year. We hope this support continues into the new year, too. We can use all the help to keep things going and all our monthly utility bills. Remember, we can give you a receipt for your donation and it is a tax deduction for you or your business. We look forward to a great new year.
To make reservation or for more information, call 620-947-2304 or stop by 212 Main St. Our regular hours for the center are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

PEABODY senior center
It?s beginning to feel a lot like winter. Mark your calendars. Peabody Senior Center is having a Soup Glorious Soup fundraiser on Wednesday, Jan. 27 from 5-7 p.m. We will have several different kinds of soup to choose from, and of course, crackers, relishes and dessert. And for your entertainment, we will be featuring music by the McKinney Sisters.
They are excellent entertainers. We have had them before, so make sure to come down.
This will be a come-and-go event, no reservations needed, and the cost is by donation. Please come and enjoy a good soup supper and support the senior center. We have many events scheduled throughout the month so either watch this article or come down and pick up a menu and join in the activities. We?d love to have you.
Don t forget we will be closed Monday, Jan. 16, for Martin Luther King Day. We will be offering frozen meals for that day, and if you would like one, just call and let us know. We will deliver them with the regular Meals on Wheels delivery the week before.
Dinner with the Doctor is Wednesday, Jan. 20.
We are located at 106 N. Walnut, and we would love to hear from you.
