Our business meeting is Wednesday, Feb. 20, during our noon meal. Haris Zafar will also be here at 11 a.m. that day to give hearing aid checks.
The monthly birthday dinner is Feb. 25 with music by Leora Grunau. We hope others will come join us for this meal and program.
Mary McFadden is at the center March 12, and we are scheduling foot care appointments.
March menus are now available for those who would like to pick one up at center.
The center’s annual fundraising event is March 16 at the Milk & Honey Bed and Breakfast, which includes the meal and music by Robert and Anita Brookens. The cost is $100, with all proceeds going to support the senior center.
For more information or to reserve a place, please call us.
A few volunteers are still needed from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and can help one or more days.
Anyone who volunteers will get lunch free of charge as a small way of thanking them for their help.
We also want to thank everyone who supports the facility by coming for lunch; our Meals on Wheels drivers; the board members; Janis Wright, head cook; Norma Cabeen, assistant cook; and the dishwashers.
We would like to invite everyone to enjoy a meal at the center. The cost for those age 60 and over is $3.15 and ages 59 and under is $5.
For more information about volunteering, appointments or other center activities, call 620-947-2304.

Marion senior center
We discovered this week that we needed to check our driver’s license occasionally because we might not get a notice to renew.
It is our responsibility to do this. We tried to call Wilma Gilmer on her 91st birthday Feb. 11. We were all going to sing to her. She wasn’t available for us to do this.
Gayla Ratzlaff, coordinator with the Marion County Department on Aging, presented the MC Senior Center survey.
Come in if you would like to complete one. We want input from those who don’t come in regularly.
We have a new shipment of greeting cards, including sympathy and birthday.
I introduced Jennifer Follis, who lives in Junction City, but is in Marion daily. She delivers meals for us.
Shirley Bowers put Valentine decorations on our tables. She and Sue Clough led a sing-along with us Feb. 13.
Come join us Feb. 27 when Lane Smith, Marion’s new chiropractor, will again be our speaker.
For more information on volunteering, renting the senior center building or making a lunch reservation, call 620-382-2942 by 9 a.m. the day of the meal. We are located at 309 S. Third St.

Peabody senior center
Our Lenten devotional this week will be presented by pastor David Ragland of the Methodist Church here in Peabody.
These are very uplifting devotions and will bring back into focus what Lent is all about. Please join us and share the experience. Jim Truax will be with us Wednesday, Feb. 27.
We will have Bingo Thursday, Feb. 21, after lunch. Please bring a candy bar for the prize basket and we’ll have a sweet time. Last month a number of people stayed and everyone really enjoyed it, so please plan on staying.
We appreciate everyone that eats with us and participates in our activities.
It is the time of year, however, that we need to remind everyone that if we don’t have more people eating with us we will be in danger of losing our Senior Center. This is a vital part of the community and really serves the needs of our older people.
Meals are a suggested contribution of $3.15 for those 60 or older and $5 for under age 60.
Anyone is welcome to eat with us. We just need a reservation the day before so we can prepare enough food. These are delicious balanced meals and include a dessert and drink.
Come give us a try. Meals are served each weekday at 11:45 a.m. or when everyone is present.
For more information or to make a lunch reservation, the center’s telephone number is 620-983-2226.
We look forward to seeing you at 106 S. Walnut St.
