August is here and schools will begin soon.
Our ice cream social is at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 25. In addition to ice cream, Bob Delk and the Boys will entertain us.
We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy a sweet treat and good entertainment. All proceeds will benefit the senior center.
Volunteers are needed from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Everyone who helps gets a free lunch that day. Volunteers must be 16 or older. A big thank you goes out to all our volunteers. We sincerely couldn’t do it without you.
For more information on volunteering or center activities, call 620-947-2304. The deadline to make reservations for lunch is 9 a.m. the day of the meal. We are located at 212 N. Main St.

We’re getting ready to move tables and chairs in preparation for our carpet to be cleaned over the weekend.
A senior center requires constant care just like one’s own home.
Ann Boese came by to say, “hello.” She is still recovering at her daughter’s home.
We gave people a choice of entree Thursday—Yankee pot roast or roast pork. Which will be most popular?
Karen Egts gave a musical program Aug. 8. She plays gospel music on the piano with some extra jazzy interpretation.
Come join us for lunch Aug. 22. Our program will be on commercial fish farming given by Colleen Hajek.
For more information on renting the building, programs or to make a lunch reservation, call 620-382-2942 by 9 a.m. the day of the meal or stop by the center, 309 S. Third St.

Hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful break from the hot weather.
School begins soon and we encourage everyone to be extra cautious and keep an eye out for the little ones crossing streets.
We are always looking for new people to eat with us at the senior center and also for volunteers.
Call us to make a reservation the day before planning to eat.
For those who have extra time, consider volunteering. We always have something someone can do and the help is appreciated regardless of the contribution.
To make a meal reservation, volunteer or to ask a question, call 620-983-2226 or come by 106 N. Walnut St.
